Artist Statement
I have been consumed with color and texture since birth. As soon as I could hold a brush and pencil I was creating art.
As an artist, my work reflects a deep reverence for nature and its intricate beauty, emphasizing the connection between life, resilience, and healing. Through vibrant botanicals, animals, and layered textures, I explore the delicate interplay between form and emotion, celebrating the vitality and stories found in the natural world.
I work in both realism and abstract styles, blending these approaches to express the duality of structure and emotion. My creative process incorporates acrylics, oil paints, and oil-based colored pencils, applied to paper, canvas, and panel. Each medium and surface allows me to explore unique textures, dimensions, and narratives, making every piece a distinct expression of my artistic vision.
Rooted in my experiences as an educator and social-emotional advocate, I aim to create art that inspires dialogue about healing and the resilience of the human spirit. From the anatomy of a flower to the life of a pollinator, I delve into the unseen details that reveal the essence of existence.
My work is both a personal exploration and an invitation to others to pause, connect, and find solace in the beauty that surrounds us. I believe art has the power to transcend barriers, fostering connection across cultures and experiences. Through my creations, I hope to bring moments of reflection, inspiration, and renewal to those who engage with them.
